Our trial work this season is investigating the following:

1. Comparing different approaches to phosphate nutrition

• Treatment with a bacterium that promotes root growth and health
• Supplying a product that stimulates soil microbes
• Foliar applied phosphate fertiliser
• Soil applied phosphate fertiliser

2. Effect of biostimulants on plant health, biomass accumulation and final yield

Four different products are being tested:

• Two products are amino acid based
• One product is based on seaweed and other plant extracts
• One product is a phosphite.
