The Industry Comes Together to Recognise Excellence – Agronomist and Arable Farmer – Sally Cox

A great night was had by all as the industry gathered at the London Bankside Hilton for the inaugural National Arable & Grassland Awards (NAGA) organised by Agronomist & Arable Farmer, and Farm Contractor & Large Scale Farmer magazines. For most, this was the first night out for many a long month, and the atmosphere echoed the sense of relief that this generated.

Over 200 people headed to London for the event, specifically designed to recognise the achievements of individuals and businesses across the industry that have excelled in all areas of arable and grassland production over the last 12 months.

Well known comedian Justin Moorhouse kept the guests entertained throughout the evening before and during the awards ceremony and no one was spared his jibes.

The event also saw a raffle, with over £1,600 raised for the Farming Community Network and a spontaneous Heads and Tails game, which saw the Young Agronomist of the Year, Sally Cox win a large bottle of Champagne.

The guests were treated to a three-course meal with rump of lamb as the main course and a selection of wines to help wash it down. Guests then danced to the Amazing Blues Brothers band until very late, while a casino, with fake money, kept others engaged.
